How to Delete Your Account

If you wish to permanently delete your Spotted account and all associated data, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Spotted app on your mobile device.
  2. Navigate to your Profile by tapping the profile icon.
  3. Scroll down to find the Delete Account option in settings.
  4. Tap Delete Account and confirm when prompted.
  5. Complete the confirmation dialog to permanently delete your account.

Important Warning

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Deleting your account will:

  • Remove all posts, comments, and reactions
  • Delete profile information and account settings
  • Remove connections, friendships, and group memberships
  • Delete transaction history and cashback records
  • Cancel any pending transactions

Data That Will Be Deleted

The following data will be permanently deleted:

Personal Information

  • Name, username, email address
  • Phone number and profile picture
  • Bio, preferences, and account settings

Content and Activity

  • Posts, media, comments, and reactions
  • Search history and saved content
  • Notification preferences and history

Social Data

  • Friends list and connections
  • Group memberships
  • Follow relationships, mentions, and tags

Financial Data

  • Transaction history
  • Cashback records
  • Payment methods
  • Wallet balance and earnings

Data Retention

After account deletion, personal data will be permanently removed from systems within 30 days.
Some anonymized data may be retained for:

  • Legal compliance (up to 7 years for financial records)
  • Security and fraud prevention (up to 1 year, anonymized)
  • Service improvement analytics (fully anonymized)

If you no longer wish to use the Spotted Merchant app, you have the right to request the permanent deletion of your account and associated data.

How to Request Account Deletion

To request the deletion of your Spotted Merchant account, please email us at support@tryspotted.com from your registered merchant email address with the subject line "Merchant Account Deletion Request". Include your Business Name in the email to help us verify your request.

What Data is Deleted?

Once your request is verified, we will permanently delete the following information from our active servers within 30 days:
Your personal merchant profile (Name, Phone Number, Login Credentials).
Your business profile details and store listings visible to users.
Active marketing campaigns, promotions, and in-house marketing setups.

What Data is Retained (and Why)?
Because Spotted facilitates subscriptions, wallet recharges, and business tools, we are legally required to retain certain financial and operational records. The following data will be safely archived and retained:
Billing & Transaction History:
Records of wallet recharges, subscription payments, and customer transaction history are retained for up to 7 years to comply with standard tax, anti-fraud, and accounting regulations.
Anonymized Data:
Aggregated, non-personally identifiable analytics (which cannot be traced back to you or your business) may be kept indefinitely to help us improve our platform.Timeframe Your account will be deactivated within 48 hours of your request (meaning you can no longer log in and your store will be hidden from users). The full data deletion process for eligible data will be completed within 30 days.

How users and merchants can permanently delete their Spotted account, what happens to their data, and how long we keep the small set of records we're legally required to retain. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

How to Delete Your Account

If you wish to permanently delete your Spotted account and all associated data, follow these steps:

  • Open the Spotted app on your mobile device.
  • Navigate to your Profile by tapping the profile icon.
  • Scroll down and open Settings.
  • Find the Delete Account option.
  • Tap Delete Account and confirm the prompt to permanently delete your account.

What Deletion Removes

Important: account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Deleting your account will:

  • Remove all posts, comments, and reactions.
  • Delete profile information and account settings.
  • Remove connections, friendships, and group memberships.
  • Delete transaction history and cashback records.
  • Cancel any pending transactions.

Categories of Data Deleted

The following data will be permanently removed:

Personal information β€” name, username, email address, phone number, profile picture, bio, preferences, and account settings.

Content and activity β€” posts, media, comments, reactions, search history, saved content, notification preferences and history.

Social data β€” friends list and connections, group memberships, follow relationships, mentions, and tags.

Financial data β€” transaction history, cashback records, payment methods, wallet balance and earnings.

For Merchants: How to Request Deletion

If you no longer wish to use the Spotted Merchant app, you have the right to request permanent deletion of your account and associated data.

Email support@tryspotted.com from your registered merchant email address with the subject line Merchant Account Deletion Request. Include your Business Name in the email to help us verify your request.

Once verified, we permanently delete the following from our active servers within 30 days:

  • Your personal merchant profile β€” name, phone number, login credentials.
  • Your business profile details and store listings visible to users.
  • Active marketing campaigns, promotions, and in-house marketing setups.
